Thistle Community Housing (Thistle) celebrated NeighborWorks America Week by hosting a community event at their Bus Stop Apartments (4871 Broadway St. Boulder CO 80301) on Wednesday, June 6th! The event included free food and refreshments, affordable housing resources for members of the community, and planting flowers around the property. Thistle also provided resource packets for residents that mimic the resources page on our website. The event was a success with many residents, local neighbors, and Thistle Team Members in attendance. It was great to get out into the community and celebrate our residents.
This year NeighborWorks America (NWA) is celebrating its 45th Anniversary, a 45-year history of impacting communities and enhancing lives, and NeighborWorks Week is the perfect opportunity to increase visibility for the programs and impact of the NeighborWorks network organizations. During NeighborWorks Week, the focus is on “Empowering Communities for Success” — something NeighborWorks America celebrates every day. Thistle Community Housing is one of the nearly 250 nonprofit network organizations that work hard to support, build, and uplift communities. Collectively, NWA programs have had a remarkable impact on providing residents and communities with access to resources that help them successfully overcome challenges and enhance their lives. NeighborWorks Week 2024 extends from June 1-8 and is intended to celebrate and empower communities by helping residents identify their power, use their power and harness their power!
Thistle was happy to celebrate NWA Week & continue their nearly 40 years of service to Boulder County by supporting moderate and lower-income individuals and families by offering affordable housing opportunities to live near where they may work or have family.
