Thanks to a recently awarded grant from the City of Longmont for $150k, with $25k in matching funds from Thistle Community Housing, Kimbark Apartments received new air conditioning units in every apartment! This upgrade is part of our ongoing commitment to improving the comfort and quality of life for all our residents.

As a nonprofit affordable housing provider, we are excited to bring this much-needed enhancement to our community. The new air conditioners will not only improve energy efficiency but also provide a more comfortable living environment.

As noted by our Contact Adam Sanderson at the City of Longmont, “Longmont Power and Communications, the City of Longmont’s electric utility, partnered with Thistle Community Housing to install 48 heat pumps using LPC’s energy efficiency funding. Heat pumps deliver efficient heating and cooling, helping keep homes cool and safe during extreme heat events. For vulnerable populations, reliable cooling can reduce heat-related illnesses and improve overall health and safety.”

With yearly temperatures on the rise, these energy efficient A/C units will be invaluable for our residents, increasing quality of life and comfort during their time as a Thistle Community Resident.
