Imagine! Helps Adults with Disabilities Work at Thistle

Meet Micah, an employee of Thistle Community Housing, who helps clean and maintain the Cannery and Kimbark properties. Micah’s responsibilities include keeping the laundry rooms clean and organized, vacuuming any and all carpeted areas on the properties, sweeping, mopping, and many other necessary tasks inside and outside of the buildings.

Micah is a person with a disability and utilizes support from Imagine!, an organization dedicated to creating a world of opportunity for all abilities. Imagine! works with the community of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Boulder County and offers a wide range of services based off of client’s wants and needs.

After working with Imagine’s employment specialists, Micah was placed at Thistle.

Micah has now been at Thistle for a year and a half! Working with Job Coaches, an additional Imagine! service, Micah reached some very important milestones in his job that have aided his independence and confidence and have given him great resources for his future endeavors. Thistle’s strong care and appreciation for Micah resulted in a wonderful working relationship with Micah, his Job Coaches, and Imagine! as a whole.
